Imagine a breathtaking 7-hectare plot of land nestled in the idyllic Aljezur region of Portugal.

It was a challenging project, but one that our team at Terracrua Design approached with excitement and determination.

Our goal? To create a regenerative design that harmoniously integrates small-scale agriculture with the surrounding environment, promoting the restoration of fragile ecosystems and their invaluable services.

And we did just that. Using a keyline approach, we designed a matrix that artfully interconnects the land’s various elements, including water features such as lakes, ponds, and dams, as well as access roads, protective forests, and infrastructure.

All zones and elements were designed to maximize the dispersion and infiltration of rainwater, preventing soil erosion and promoting the capture of the omnipresent fog that rolls through the region. This, in turn, significantly increases the average annual precipitation of the area.

Our comprehensive design includes multiple formats, including Geopackage files, QGIS and QField software, PDF plots (A1 or A0), cost estimates, implementation timelines, and GNSS software for GPS tablets.

Our clients, Nuno and Mariana, can easily visualize and navigate the project on the ground, thanks to our geo-localized tablet GPS hardware.

At Terracrua Design, we are passionate about creating regenerative designs that enhance both the land and the lives of those who inhabit it.

We wish Nuno and Mariana every success with their property and look forward to supporting them in their journey towards a regenerative future.
