Discovering Regenerative Design Opportunities at Herdade do Coelho, a Hidden Gem in Ourique
At Terracrua Design, we recently had the pleasure of visiting Herdade do Coelho, a 150-hectare property nestled in the heart of Ourique. What we found was a hidden gem with untapped potential for regenerative land use practices that could benefit both the environment and the local community.
Our team recognized the opportunity to implement regenerative water design/keyline practices at this site. By conducting a topographical survey and developing a simple plan for water management and access, we believe we can create a foundation for future activities on the farm that will contribute to its growth and long-term self-sufficiency.
We believe that regenerative design should not only be visually appealing but also benefit the local ecosystem. That’s why our team is dedicated to designing and implementing a comprehensive water management plan that promotes soil fertility, reduces erosion, and supports vegetation growth. We will work closely with the property owners and local communities to ensure that the plan aligns with their values and goals.
Herdade do Coelho represents an excellent opportunity to promote regenerative tourism and agriculture in the Ourique region. With a comprehensive water management plan in place, we can create a model for regenerative land use practices that will benefit the environment and the local community.
We’re excited about this project and our commitment to creating regenerative solutions that promote environmental stewardship and community engagement. Stay tuned for updates on our progress at Herdade do Coelho!
